• PHP 4.3.10 and 5.0.3 are out
• Wordpress 1.2.2 is done
• MySQL 4.1 has been certified for production (finally supporting Unicode and Subselects! It's becoming a real DBMS after all...) Triggers and stored procedures are still in the pipeline, of course, but
• PostgreSQL 8.0 will be out soon and have a native Windows version ready, so you can have all those advanced features if you need 'em.

This server still runs MySQL 4.0 from backports.org, but I run 4.1 on my local development machines and it's great. If just Debian 3.1 would ship with it :-/... I guess as soon as Sarge is out, I'll be installing "backported" packages. That's kinda sad.

Update! it looks like MySQL 4.1.7 already found its way into testing.

• An U.S. marine told medical staff to cut off his finger so they wouldn't have to cut through his wedding ring. They did. Then they lost the ring! Seriously, there are people who wouldn't be able to beat a pumpkin at a spelling contest.

• Everybody talks about Google Suggest now, which is a great demonstration for XMLHttpRequest and its possibilities.
